Spain Motorcycle Ride Dispatch 12

What a ride. Roberto asked me what was the best day of the trip and I was able to recall it. Some people stated it was all a blur. The day after the first rainy day. Then it never rained on us again. The temperature dropped to 6 celsius at its lowest and 31 at its highest. I rode and chased friends, I enjoyed multiple bottles of the finest wines and usually with Canuck Jim nearby. One of the best guys to have around to break the ice or to get the grumpiness out of those in the ground that needed it. You grow as a group.

There was no politics either locally or back home to discuss since we had really, really big things going on around us daily.

The important things like where’s JuanJo and my travel bag. Where’s Roberto and what’s the best place to eat. What tracks are we doing Kevin? It’s all red.

And like the Beatles used to sing about, no religion that needed any discussion.

“It’s easy if you try

No hell below us

Above us, only sky

Imagine all the people

Living for today

Imagine there’s no countries

It isn’t hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace

Now imagine 9 riders and the other daily dispatches; and that be us!

There’s something to doing what I’m doing and that’s just capturing the memories and moments so that I can come back someday and continue to savor my life. Becoming an everyday storyteller is really not that difficult. You just have to be more observant. See that kitty cat in the picture. I just woke him up this morning.

Today we rode from Leibana, Spain to Olmedo Spain. Olmedo is known today for a battle that occurred in May 1445, over taxes. The American colonists in 1770 also had a similar conflict over having to pay taxes to a King who lived far, far away.

The last day of our Spain ride tour is here. And somehow I only managed to lose one thing. A pair of Ray Ban sunglasses that only went from the motorcycles top case to my face.

But, I could go really deep into details about two or three others that lost things like passports, drivers licenses, backpacks and even a helmet. But I won’t. It all got replaced or found somehow………and the world

“Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world”

Imagine a historical place that is now an 82 room hotel, with massaging thermal hot springs pool in the center of it. Plus a spa with every type of service available. And no one else but me took advantage of any of it.

(That was written earlier, actually Roberto and Bill also did). And in case you’re wondering Juanjo had bleeding ulcers that caused him to drop out this morning.

The ride to here was not so awesome as in the previous days but, the lodging now is perfect for rest some and relaxation after two weeks of riding.

THIS MORNING: Approximately thirty minutes from our three star beautiful hotel the Posada El Corcal de Leibana is the Fuente De, a cable car gondola that in just under four minutes takes you to a height of 753 meters and reaches an altitude of 1823 meters. Didn’t get to see it on this trip.

The road out of town

The second woman is also wearing an apron and has a grandmotherly appearance and seems to be the cooks assistant. The house that they have has a deck that is like looking into the cross section of a ship. From afar I watched them make what appeared to me to be meatballs. It was all really entertaining. Those are the simple things that come out when you take notice and put your phone away.

The place that we are in now would be my first choice. Step 1: set photographs of my family on the bedside table, arrange books and papers beside a laptop for my daily writing, buy my little buddy some flowers.

Walk the streets, imagine how life would be.

Establish a routine.

Feel totally safe!

Eat healthy

Exercise

Walk

And in the meantime back home on the news the talking heads want you to listen to things like warnings and all of the dangers that are just ahead of the bandits, the drug crazies, the homeless or the sky is falling!

The Spanish wedding

Say the word, love
Say the word, love
Say the word, love
Say the word, love

See you soon, my little Buddy!
