The adventure of life

I love great thought provoking quotes and I truly do love life. Why just this morning I found myself saying that if life threw me lemons then I would enjoy the lemonade.

The adventure of life! “The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change. The challenge of life is to overcome.

The essence of life is to care. The opportunity of like is to serve. The secret of life is to dare. The spice of life is to befriend. The beauty of life is to give.”

― William Arthur Ward

Most of the time someone ages ago just captured it so and now if only we can stop for a moment to let it sink in, just so, what a profound change can words make in our soul.

Here is another great quote:

“Remember that man lives only in the present, in this fleeting instant; all the rest of his life is either past and gone, or not yet revealed.”

Aurelius

Remember the high board at the swimming pool? After days of looking up at it you finally climbed the wet steps to the platform. From there, it was higher than ever. There were only two ways down: the steps to defeat of the dive to victory. You stood on the edge, shivering in the hot sun, deathly afraid.

At last you leaned too far forward, it was too late for retreat, and you dived. The high board was conquered, and you spent the rest of the day diving. Climbing a thousand high boards, we demolish fear, and turn into human beings.

 Richard Bach

Do I ever remember. How can a little height frighten the hell out of us that way. Maybe we were just not thrown up high enough as babies and hopefully caught; maybe the fear or peer pressure had something to do with the choice we made?

Life is a sum of all your choices.

Albert Camus (1913-1960)

This quote really hits home. I stop to think of ” what ifs” even if for just a moment and then it truly does all boil down to choices made along the way but, then I stop and think, there must be a guardian angel that took over while I was about to do stupid things like?
