10,000 miles by Jeep, Ferrari and the Alaska Marine Highway

So, what does this have to do with boating you might ask?  Well, on this little 10,000 mile journey, my Anchorage friend Petr took us from Whittier to Cordova on his Yamaha jet boat at a whopping 55 mph; my jeep and I rode the Alaska Marine Highway down from Haines, Alaska down to Bellingham, WA stopping in Ketchikan, Sitka and probably one more stop but I don’t remember.  Since there were no cabins available I pitched my tent, yes pitched or rather duck taped my tent to the metal decking on the stern of the boat and slept there.  Rest of the time I lounged on the decks, saw movies, visited the store, restaurant, etc.

Also, got to do a little halibut fishing in Homer, AK as we drove Petr’s Ferrari from Anchorage down to Homer, sometimes on dirt roads, getting some real strange looks at times, but mostly thumbs up from everyone that wanted to take a picture with the yellow car.

I thought I would capture this trip here for your reading pleasure.  Almost forgot about this adventure that I started about two weeks after coming off the Pacific Crest Trail.

Now this is or rather was my jeep as according to the little woman if I was going to buy another toy I first needed to get rid of one.
