Sailing Kava’s

While walking my dog I suddenly notice a catamaran heading for the Cabrillo beach. What I later find out is that this is part of an expedition of Pacific Islanders.  The goal is to prove Pacific Islanders in primitive sailing kava’s (catamarans) were able to making their way across great distances.

The Samoan crew was quickly adopted by me and helped out as you can see by some of the pictures.
